The International College of Hospitality and Tourism was established in the 2014 academic year with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
The Department of Food Science and Technology, Department of Culinary Arts and Hotel Management, and Department of English for Global Communication, which were originally affiliated to the College of Human Science and Social Innovation, were reorganized into this college.
The training goal of The International College of Hospitality and Tourism is “to cultivate professionals with hospitality skills and international perspectives in the international hospitality industry.” Committed to the innovative characteristics of green catering, with the thinking of environmental sustainability, creative design, management and intelligent application, we implement the educational goals of “cultivation of creative catering culture”, “professional certificate education”, “corporate-school cooperation”, “international exchange and internship”, and “sustainable green catering”. Implementing the concept of technical and vocational education, it has professional practical classrooms, on-campus professional practice areas and professional skills testing areas, and cooperates with the four-in-one policy of “learning, training, examination and application” to promote internationalization. Achieve the goal of students having both diplomas and certificates, and echo the school’s core philosophy of “health, people’s livelihood and well-being, and sustainability”. Based on the basic cultural heritage and creative literacy, the school’s development blueprint cultivates students to combine professional skills of “intelligent innovation”, “cross-domain integration” and “sustainable development”, so as to become professionals with hospitality skills and international vision, and achieve the school’s mission of being the best partner in the international hospitality industry.
- In view of the impact of Taiwan’s declining birthrate in the future, our school will expand our school motto “Begin from oneself, extend benevolence to all.” educational philosophy to the world. Department of Food Science and Technology and Department of Culinary Arts and Hotel Management of our college currently recruits overseas two-year specialized class, four-year specialized class, the International Specialized Department and the 3+4 Overseas Chinese Specialized Class, making our college increasingly internationalized. Therefore, combined with EMI’s all-English teaching assistance from the Department of English for International Communication, the goal is to recruit more international students.
- The so-called “international” is a two-way channel. In addition to recruiting international students, it is also committed to bilingual teaching for domestic students, international internships, and the vision of staying and working abroad in the future. Our college’s internationalization programs for domestic students include cross-disciplinary English courses in international hospitality, promotion of Michelin special classes, overseas internships such as ALMA, British-Japanese twin universities and master’s degrees, and exchange programs in the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea and Australia.
- In terms of micro-entrepreneurship, there are baking and pastry courses, and catering and food entrepreneurship courses. In the international student program, there are EMI short-term postgraduate courses of the International Hospitality and Tourism Institute to achieve the institute’s vision of cultivating professionals with hospitality skills and international perspectives in the international hospitality industry.
- The International College of Hospitality and Tourism cultivates hospitality professionals with international vision and competitiveness, and establishes an international bilingual and foreign language learning environment in hospitality and tourism, allowing Taiwanese students to go global, and allowing international students to come to Taiwan to study and stay in Taiwan for employment.
